Analytes Reported: Cortisol x 4 over a single day + DHEA x 1. Results provided in both Chart and Graph form. The reference range includes upper and lower limits.
Overview: Checking Adrenal health is a very good idea. The adrenal cortex, responsible for producing such hormones as Cortisol, is vital for metabolism and plays a crucial role when responding to stress. Low DHEA indicates Cortisol irregularity and is a vital clue when assessing adrenal function. Measuring your adrenal function will reveal just how much stress you body is under. Saliva is perfectly suited for this purpose.
Why test?: The constant demand for cortisol due to stress will eventually exhaust the adrenal glands and disrupt the production of your progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, and DHEA.
Panel Components: The Adrenal Function Extended Profile kit includes four saliva collection vials. Detailed instructions are included with this kit.
Collection Schedule: Samples to be collected at – Sample 1: 6AM-8AM, sample 2: 12 midday, sample 3: 6PM and sample 4: at 10PM.
Fasting requirements: Fasting overnight for the first sample collection only. More detail provided.

Oh no not today. I'm sorry if you had that impression. The sample is now safely in a controlled environment and testing has commenced. This is a rigid process that does have many steps. There are approximately 12 people working in that process using equipment worth many millions of dollars. It's very technical, and I won't pretend to understand it but this process takes approximately 6 - 10 days depending on how many hormones are being tested, and if melatonin is one of them (takes longer).
Another thing, and I hope I am not boring you here, is that any abnormal result will undergo retesting for the sake of accuracy. This adds a couple of days if required.
The only good news here is that the laboratory we use is obsessed with accuracy, and they don't give a toss' about wait time. We are the ones that stress out about that :-). We want our clients to get results as fast as possible and with this laboratory, we don't have to worry about the quality or integrity of the test, which is the most important thing at the end of the day.
So let's keep our fingers crossed you get these by the end of next week, I'll be keeping watch..
Hope that helps explain things and if there is anything else I'm here to assist.
Kind regards, Michelle

Using hormonal birth control will not interfere with this test as we are not testing the sex hormones.
Yes, however, if you plan on removing the IUD, at least 1 month should pass before using the TestoChecker Kit.
