Vitamin D Test

$187.00

Testing: Vitamin D2, D3 & Total D. Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, (LC-MS/MS).

Vitamin D is an essential hormone necessary for formation, growth and health of the [approximately] 210 bones in our body. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to increased risk for some common diseases. It’s also required for good immune function and normal calcium uptake.

Be aware, this test requires the user to attend the nearest specimen collection centre.

Why Test Vitamin D?

Vitamin D deficiency is fairly common and usually nothing that can’t be corrected with some simple changes to diet or lifestyle. Very low Vitamin D, or worse, Vitamin D proficiency (excess), are both more serious and should be investigated with the help of suitably qualified healthcare professionals.

“The Working Group of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, Endocrine Society of Australia and Osteoporosis Australia have recommended that the Vitamin D level should be greater than 50 nmol/L.
